after my days in airlie beach i took a nightbus to a place called 1770 on friday the 15th, guess where that name comes from?! a real australian tea towel to the 1st person who comments to this post and answers this right! :P
the weather was quite nice there the first 2 days, but then started to change for the worse. the hostel, cool bananas, was the BEST and friendliest hostel i've been at during my stay here in OZ (except for those very friendly hostels in balmain, wollongong & alice springs of course, who can top that?!), and i basically didn't do much more than read & listen to my ipod in a hammock most of the day....oh how lovely the life of a backpacker can be. also saw some nice movies on tv during the night and an episode of grey's anatomy for the 1st time in 2 months, of course it was one of those tragic episodes that was to be continued next week...frustration!
then last tuesday, the 19th, i went to hervey bay where i fell in love with the hostel's cat and saw a lovely sunset @ night

the hostel cool banana's in 1770 (with my favourite feature: the hammocks)

ReplyDeleteHei Saar! Time is running out and you'll probably wish you could turn back time so that you could stay even longer in Oz! I at least had that feeling when I was there! Just had another look at my Oz photo album...Aahhhh, such a beautiful country! You got me curious on the Town of 1770 (and the hostel!)....so for all of you who didn't know the answer before - the town of 1770 is the second landing site of Lieutenant James Cook and his crew of the Endeavour (in May 1770). So, can I claim the tea towel now? :-)
