sydney - hong kong - amsterdam - oslo

leaving australia after 3 months was strange, arriving in the madhouse that's called hong kong was even weirder especially since it was one hot & steamy madhouse, coming home a few days later was actually not that weird at all...what made it madness was that i hardly had 3 days before i was off again, this time to norway with 38 guests following me.

my jetlag was still there, my cold was horrible and my ankles were still swollen...but i had a great week, thanks to a nice & funny driver, a great group and weather that cleared every day!

now i'm home, for 4 days until i'm off to the north again. next week i'll only have 15 guests (what?!) & we'll start in stockholm, yay!

from hong kong to the fjords within a week: different countries, different scenery!

quickie from hong kong!

have been in this HOT & HUMID city for almost 2 days now, and will be for another day before i fly home (!!!) tomorrow night.

my room here is tiny, but that's normal for hong kong standards. same with the bathroom, if i'm having a shower my toilet and sink are also completely wet that's how tiny it is haha!
during the day it's about 35C here, but the humidity is the thing that makes this heat k-i-l-l-i-n-g, keep running in & out of shops & shopping malls to escape the heat, luckily that's not a problem here.

so what have i been doing here?
well, yesterday i took the star ferry to hong kong island, my guesthouse is on the other city island called kowloon, wandered around there and then took the peak tram up to...the peak, the highest point on hong kong island from where you have a great view over the city.
today i went outside of town to visit the big buddha and accompanying buddhist temple, pretty cool (even though it was even hotter there than in the city)!
tonight i'm going to one of the night markets here in kowloon, tomorrow i'm gonna try to get up early to find some old chinese man in the park doing their daily tai chi routine, after that i'm going to find more buddha's...about 10.000 of them!
then at night it's the bus back to the airport, a 12 1/2 hour flight and i'll be back in amsterdam by tuesday morning :D

will post pix of hong kong next week!
