stavanger is just lovely...especially when you have a room with a view over the whole town and harbour from the 12th floor :D
we arrived here yesterday afternoon after a day full of tunnels, mountains, fjords and more tunnels...had a good laugh whenever svein asked me if i saw a troll in the tunnel now...one time he even turned off his lights 'ser du en troll noe?' haha!
we had a lunch break in a little place called sand, where 2 of the guests and me had a walk to the pharmacy first as they were both having a bad cold, they were so happy svein & me had thought about finding one for them the whole day (it is kind of hard to find a pharmacy if you're on the road from rauland to stavanger believe me).
got another room in this hotel first, but when i heard svein easily changed his room because he didn't like the view from his window too much (right into an office, same as mine) i tried as well and got this room that is just....wow! am getting picky now, well... when you're somewhere for 2 nights or longer you can be i think.
went for a drink with svein on one of the terraces in the harbour last night, was good though it was a bit hard to get up this morning. today was a ' day off' for the guests, but there was an excursion to the lysefjord that i organised they could go on...which all, but 2, did. it wasn't too bad, only had to take them to the boat, pay and go on it for free myself...the delights of being a travelguide. weather sucked this morning though, so we had some heavy rain on our way into the fjord....but i saw the preikestolen (pulpit rock) and that's what counts, ha!
when we got back around 14:00 everyone went into town to do something else...i had lunch and then did some shopping and just wandered around this lovely town.
it was laks (salmon), still yummy, for dinner...just got back from another drink at the harbour with svein...only one today as it's an official working day again tomorrow.
tomorrow we'll take the ocean road down to flekkefjord, further to lindesnes (most southern point of norway) and then to kristiansand for the night.
after that there's only one more day and then it's home from oslo again on friday...time flies when you're a travelguide!
p.s. forgot to write that in the end i did get the necklace i wanted from efva attling...only not from one of her stores but from NK in stockholm, ha! ' carpe diem' is with me every day now :D
